JAMMU, Aug 22: Pakistan is violating the cease fire every now and then, causing heavy loss of precious lives and property and Union Government is watching all this as mute spectator.
This was alleged by BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas after visiting border villages of Pindi, Kaku de Kothey and Alla falling in Bishnah constituency.
Acompanied by state general secretary, Sat Sharma (C.A.) and Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, the BJP chief undertook an extensive visit of these villages for an on the spot asessment of the sufferings of the people, damage caused to their houses, cattle and crops on account of Pakistan’s firing across border. The team was apprised by the local inhabitants about the hardships faced by them and the losses they have to undergo as they are prevented to undertake agricultural activities in their fields and also damage to their houses etc.
Manhas, while expressing party’s sympathy towards the affected people, said that Pakistan is openly violating cease fire and resorting to unprovoked firing at civilians on account of weak kneed policies of the Union Government towards Pakistan. The bullets from Pakistani side have even pierched through walls of houses and reached deep inside them. The people are feeling insecure and there is terror and uncertainty among them and they are not able to lead a normal life free from terror and worry.
He said, the people in border areas are already facing a number of problems and the firing by Pakistan is further making their survival more risky. He also referred to the construction of underground tunnel inside our border by Pakistan and UPA’s least concern for the security of the country. He assured the people that the party will take up their grievances for redressal and seek adequate compensation for them. He also stressed for setting up of Defence Committees for better liasion with the Army.
