JAMMU, May 5: BJP district spokesperson and Sarpanch, Chowgam Vijay Raina has condemned the illegal cutting of trees at Cremation Ground, Chowgam which was the property of Kashmiri Pandits of that area.
Expressing surprise he said that how inimical forces would afford to hit the faith of Hindu community especially in their absence. The BJP leader demanded that responsible Government should take stern action against the culprits who had not only attacked the sentiments of the community but had also shattered their faith.
The BJP leader added that he had already brought that situation in the notice of tehsildar Devsar in March, 2021 that nine trees at Cremation Ground were mercilessly cut without the due permission of the Kashmiri Pandit Committee of that area. It was strange enough on the part of Government machinery that till date no action under law had been initiated against the culprits.
Raina said BJP leader sought intervention of Government to recover the lacs of rupees earned by culprits in last three decades by cutting trees which was the property of Hindus of that area and that was done without the knowledge of concerned Hindus which was illegal and attracted the legal action against the enemies of religious faith.
Raina demand that district Kulgam administration should initiate an enquiry into the matter and should bring culprits to book so that such inimical forces in future could not raise their ugly head.
