MENDHAR, May 5: The police today arrested three drug-peddlers in Harni area of Mendhar Sub Division and recovered 20 gms of heroin and some cash from their possession.
Official sources said that a joint naka of police party led by SHO Gursai, Inspr Niaz Ahmed along with team of CID CI and 49 RR (Army) was established at Naka Manjari bridge in Harni area under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar, Z A Jafri.
During checking, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK12B/4873 Pulsar, coming from Naka Manjari side was signaled to stop for checking but motor-cyclist alongwith two other riders, tried to escape by speeding the bike. However, alert police party apprehended them and during search recovered 20 grams heroin and a cash amounting to Rs 31500 from their posession.
The arrested persons were identified as Ayaz Ahmed alias Mantu, son of Ghulam Sarvar, resident of Ari, Mendhar; Vivek Sharma, Parveen Kumar, resident of Ari, Mendhar and
Javaid Iqbal, son of Talib Hussain, a resident of Dheri Dabsi.
In this regard, FIR No.40/2021 U/S 8/21/22/27A NDPS in Police Station, Gursai has been registered and further investigation was in progress.
