BJP leader blames Govt for lack of basic amenities

RAJOURI, Nov 18: Taking a dig at State Government, BJP State secretary Vibodh Gupta today held it responsible for acute shortage of basic amenities in the border town Rajouri and alleged it for using ignoring tactics with this area. He also demanded a masterplan for overall development of town.
In a statement after completion of two days tour of various areas of town falling under Muncipal Committee Rajouri, Gupta said that a team of party leaders visited Peer Kanju, Pathanmorha, Tandwal, Naban Mohalla, Jawhar Nagar, Manhas Mohalla, Thudi, Dhanidhar, Harijan Colony, Bela Colony, Kheora, Salani and several other areas.
He said that during their visit it was found that there is acute crisis of water in most of the areas as water is supplied after every four days and it is also unhygienic posing grave risk to the human health. He also said that condition of lanes and drains is also dilapidated in the town and a lot of inconvenience is caused to the people due to it.
Gupta said that majority of construction work either of domestic or commercial level going on in the town is unplanned and concerned authorities are not bothering it at all. Expressing concern over for power crisis, he said that in most parts of town voltage of power is quite low while LT lines touching houses poses a threat to human lives. He said the construction work of a community hall is also hanging in air from past several months.
Gupta demanded upgradation of Rajouri Muncipal Committee to Muncipal Council and said that only ten to twelve lakh rupees have been sanctioned to Municipal committee for repair of lanes and drains which is quite a less amount.
He also demanded immediate start of construction work of circular road from Tariq bridge to Hilton bridge and construction of an alternate bridge from Panj Peer to Mandala Mang area of Jawahar Nagar for decongestion.
