KARGIL, Jan 28: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kargil unit today organized a massive protest rally here against Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil and Congress led UPA Government at Centre.
The main issues highlighted in the rally included power crisis, unavailability of ration, delay in AN 32 courier service and the recent remarks made by CEC Kargil on the eve of Republic Day in his speech.
The protest rally started from BJP’s district unit office Poyen and it passed through main bazaar and culminated at Lal Chowk. A large number of protestors holding Party flags were shouting slogans against LAHDC and UPA Government at Centre for their failure in fulfilling the basic needs of the people.
Addressing the rally at Lal Chowk, Mohammed Subhan Jaffary accused the LAHDC Kargil for shortage of food supplies at the ration stores of the district, irregular power supply, non functioning of courier services. He blamed the Union Government led  by Congress of always discriminating with people of Kargil and said it will only end after the new Government led by Narendra Modi assumes office at Centre.
He said Mr Modi is fully aware of the problems being faced by the people of Kargil.
Criticizing the speech of CEC Kargil, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai on the occasion of Republic Day regarding the achievements of present Council, he said the construction of 200 bedded hospital and ANMT school, international ice hockey ring and indoor stadium, construction of youth hostel, upgradation and macadamization of New Bus Stand  and many more projects costing crores of rupees were already sanctioned to the district during ex CEC, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan. But unfortunately Karbalai is taking the credit to gain vote in the upcoming LS and Assembly elections by misleading the people, Jaffary added.
