Sources said the names were submitted by the Committee after a proper survey in the districts of both the constituencies out of which three to four candidates will be shortlisted from both the constituencies to be submitted to the Parliamentary Board -the highest organizational body for selection of candidates.
Sources said on other three constituencies including Anantnag -Rajouri constituency, Srinagar and Baramulla constituencies the party is keeping its cards close to the chest and maintaining a wait and watch till opposition parties clear their stand whether they will field a common candidate or contest elections separately.
However, sources said that party survey for newly carved out Anantnag – Rajouri seat has given first preference to BJP UT president, Ravinder Raina as a probable candidate. However, the final decision in this regard lies with Parliamentary Board. Raina himself is interested in contesting from that Lok Sabha constituency, sources added.
