BJP has given due recognition to Dr Ambedkar: Balbir

JAMMU, Apr 2: Declaration of holiday on Ambedkar Jayanti, the birthday of Dr BR Ambedkar, by the Union Government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has once again proved that the BJP has very high regards for the ‘Architect of the Indian Constitution’ and recognizes his services for the nation and the weaker sections in the true sense.
Ever since Narendra Modi Government came to power, it decided to recognize the services and sacrifices of great leaders of the nation, who had served country with loyalty and dedication but were deliberately ignored by the Congress regimes, which had only concern for  Nehru-Gandhi family, said BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan here, today while addressing party meeting.
Balbir Ram Rattan highlighted what BJP Government has done to keep alive Dr. Ambedkar’s  ideals and memory in the minds of the new generation.
Dr. Ambedkar, the Architect of our Constitution, known lawyer and a social reformer, who acted as the Masiah of the down trodden, was kept confined to the pages of text books but never given the national honour which he deserved. He was posthumously conferred with Bharat Ratna by BJP supported Government, Balbir said.
The BJP Government has identified all the important places related to different stages of the life of Dr. Ambedkar and built memorials on his name not only in India but abroad as well, he added.
Balbir said that Ambedkar Jayanti is an annual festival observed on April 14.
It marks the Baba Sahab’s birthday who was born on this day in 1891. Since 2015, after Modi Government came to power it has been observed as official public holiday throughout India. Keeping in with the same tradition, the Government has once again declared a national public holding on April 14 this year also, which is the 130th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar.
He told that Bheem Janam Bhoomi Memorial and Museum has been built in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Ambedkar Memorial in Delhi, where Dr. Ambedkar breathed his last, Chaitya Bhoomi has been set up in Mumbai, where he was cremated after his death, Deeksha Bhoomuin where Dr. Ambedkar converted to Buddhism.
Shiksha Bhoomi Memorial has been set up abroad, where the icon lived for several years while pursuing higher studies at the London School of Economics.
Besides BJP media in -charge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, party activists, Sanjay Khanna, Ashutosh Gupta, Umesh Kumar Gabbar, Ravinder Singh, Gaurab Pargal were present in the meeting.
