JAMMU, Oct 15: BJP is committed for equal treatment to all and it will take up matter at appropriate forum to overcome the issue of reservation in promotion as Party is for equal treatment be given to SC/ST categories in promotions as provided in other States.
This was stated by Party MLC and vice president Ramesh Arora while addressing a press conference here, today along with SC MLAs of the Party.
He said Party will make all efforts and take all necessary steps to remove the grievances of SC/ST categories.
“We are of the opinion the previous Governments including Congress-NC should have taken care of the problem but they failed to do so’’. BJP has decided to take up the matter at appropriate level as the time is not ripe for ending the reservation, he added.
Arora said that BJP cannot ignore SC/ST in the State because of their economic condition, population and representation in various fields. They are demanding equal treatment as it has been given to the persons belonging to their community residing in other States. They cannot be ignored due to technicalities and procedural defects. The previous Governments failed to take care of legal position and requirement under the Constitution. A number of persons have approached BJP leaders for redressal of their grievances and BJP is committed for all round development in this State and extended full support to the SC/ST persons who are enjoying the reservation as per the law., he added.
He said Party is fully with these people and assures every possible assistance and help to them. It will take all appropriate steps to sort out the matter, he added.
MLAs Dr. Krishan Lal, Dina Nath Bhagat, Kuldeep Raj and senior leader Bansi Lal Bharti were present in the press conference.
