BJP flays Vikramaditya on joining Congress

JAMMU, Oct 19: State Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) here today took a dig on the joining of Congress by Vikramaditya Singh and showing desire to contest the elections.
“This has exposed that the real purpose of his resigning from PDP was not concern about non-recognition and non-bestowing of deserved respect to Maharaja Hari Singh but in fact he was looking for greener political pastures,” State BJP Chief Spokesperson, Sunil Sethi stated in a handout adding that the joining of Congress by Singh has proved that he has no respect or regard for late Maharaja as he chose to commit the same mistake which his father did by joining hands with a party that had done injustice to Maharaja Hari Singh not only by thrusting Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah on him but also by creating circumstances to force him (Maharaja) to leave his State permanently.
Sethi further said that people of the State are very angry with this turncoat attitude and political opportunism by scion of royal family and will surely teach a lesson to such person for showing disregard and disrespect to Maharaja Hari Singh.
He also demanded from Governor administration that keeping in mind the larger sentiments of the people of the State, there should be holiday on the birth date of Maharaja Hari Singh as also on the Accession Day falling on Oct 26 which should be celebrated in the State as India Day.
