SAMBA, Aug 3: JKPCC Working President and former Minister Raman Bhalla has accused the BJP Government of failing the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth and rural poor.
In an interactive session with party workers in Swankha, Ramgarh constituency, Bhalla expressed concerns over growing unemployment and slow recruitment, which have left many young people without hope. He criticized the prevalence of backdoor appointments and nepotism, particularly highlighting the discrimination against Jammu candidates in various Public Service Commission posts.
Bhalla was joined by former Minister Yashpal Kundal and other local leaders, including District President Sanjeev Sharma and Working DCC Samba Babal Gupta. They collectively condemned the BJP’s focus on reactionary and divisive politics, which they argue has damaged governance and neglected the needs and aspirations of the Jammu region.
“The BJP’s decade-long rule has led to a severe decline in utility services and overall development,” said Bhalla and accused the party of prioritizing power over public welfare and failing to deliver on promises made before, during, and after elections.
Bhalla asserted that the BJP’s approach has resulted in widespread disillusionment among the people of Jammu, who feel betrayed by the party’s actions.
Former Minister Yashpal Kundal echoed these sentiments, criticizing the BJP for neglecting the interests of Jammu’s youth and failing to fulfill their promises.
District President Sanjeev Sharma added that the BJP has lost its moral authority and failed to address the needs of the people, with governance becoming ineffective and public grievances mounting.
The Congress leaders pledged to continue highlighting issues and working for the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir. They emphasized the need for the Congress party to restore faith in democracy and bridge the divisions created by the BJP’s policies. They called on party workers to strengthen grassroots efforts and support the region’s development and unity.
Tirath Ram Bhagat, Mandeep Choudhary Rakesh Singh, Mesh Sharma, Pyara Singh, Sourprum Singh, Sunil Bhagat, Shankar Dass, Vijay Angulana, Kuldeep Singh Choudhary, Balram Kundal and others were also present on the occasion.
