SAMBA, Mar 13- Asserting that the BJP is the first and the only choice for those believing in the politics of performance, party vice president J&K UT, Surjeet Singh Salathia today said the track record of the Prime Minister’s relentless efforts in transforming the country has rekindled hope among the people of Jammu and Kashmir to become front runners in India’s growth story.
Welcoming scores of prominent workers of the Panthers Party into the BJP, at a function held at Sumb in Samba, Slathia said that the country is witnessing a new era of surge in development with focus on infrastructure, industrialization, investment, job generation and economic resurgence. How can Jammu and Kashmir lag behind, he asked and expressed optimism about big fillip in socio-economic development under the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas involving all communities.
Slathia referred to massive mandate given to the BJP recently in the four State Assembly elections and said that cutting across gender, caste and religious barriers, the people came to vote in a big way in favour of the party thus fracturing the mischievous campaign of those instilling fear among sections of society by the desperate opposition. These elements are out here also, who are spreading canards despite knowing well that the BJP stands for inclusive development and believes in opportunities of progress to all, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
He said the BJP is reaching out to villages, the poor, the farmers, the Tribals, the Dalits, the OBCs, the minorities, the youth, the women and the under-privileged, adding that this has made the party a mass movement. Fulfilling the aspirations of people is the sole commitment of the BJP, he added.
Salathia hoped that the joining of public spirited political workers will further strengthen the BJP at the grass root level to enable it meet the challenges faced to Jammu and Kashmir with renewed vigour.
The residents and the party workers also apprised Slathia about various local problems. He assured that these will be taken up at the appropriate forum earnestly.
Prominent among the Panther Party workers, who joined the BJP included Ranjeet Singh, block president, Ghulam Ali along with their supporters.
Besides, BDC Chairman, Romesh Singh, those present at the function included Jogeshwar Singh, Mandal president BJP Samba, Balvinder Singh, general secretary, Thoru Ram, district secretary, Kumar Singh, ST Morcha, Mandal president, Mohammad Mushtaq, OBC Mandal president, Vicky Verma, Kisan Morcha, Mandal president, Balbir Singh, district vice president, Mohammad Riyas, Roshan Singh, Vijay Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma and others.
