JAMMU, Jan 19: A delegation of BJP leaders led by former Minister and general secretary of the party Sunil Sharma called on Commissioner Secretary Power and highlighted the problems of the people of the area before him.
The other members of the delegation included Ravi Kumar Thakur, vice president district Kishtwar BJP, B L Dhar former Chief Engineer and BJP leader etc. They demanded that the local youth be given reservation in the jobs in Paccal -Dool Hydel Project and work on the other Hydel projects in the area be started whose DPRs have already been framed.
The delegation said that Kishtwar and Doda districts have lot of potential of generating the hydro electricity and this should be exploited to the hilt so that the power generation can be increase in the UT of J&K not only to meet its domestic needs but to sell to other states as well to boost the economy of the UT. They said that construction of more projects will also help in employment generation in the hilly belt.
The Commissioner Secretary assured the delegation that their demands will be looked into.
