BHADERWAH, Nov 27: The protests against the statement of former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) patriarch Dr Farooq Abdullah continued for the second consecutive day today at different parts of Jammu region.
Continuing the protest to express their anger and resentment over the remarks of Farooq Abdullah , Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit of District Doda held a demonstration at Gandoh in presence of its district president Advocate Manjeet Razdan and Mahila Mandal Pradhan Sonica Thakur today.
After yesterday’s protest at Doda, today a large number of BJP workers in presence of its district president gathered at main market Gandoh to lodge their protest by raising slogans and burning effigy of NC leader for his reported utterances against India while addressing a public rally at Kishtwar on Friday. The protesters torched effigy of NC leader.
“This is a very serious issue and we would not let it go easily as this is direct attack on sovereignty and integrity of our nation. For his irresponsible statement and intemperate language related to our nation, a FIR be lodged and he should be booked under sedition charges,” said district president Advocate Manjeet Razdan.
The National Conference (NC) leader stirred controversy earlier on Friday by questioning India’s claim to PoK and said it isn’t the country’s paternal property.
“We are deeply hurt as the scatterbrained vocalisation of a former CM publicly has shaken our sentiments. This clearly shows the political bankruptcy of a veteran leader, who can stoop to any level for cheap publicity  and political gains,” said BJP Mahila Mandal Pradhan Sonica Thakur adding that not only Abdullah should tender unconditional apology to the nation but he should be immediately put behind the bars for disrespecting the nation and Parliament.
Those who addressed the protesters include Mohinder Singh, Mandal Pradhan Gandoh, Balwant Parihar, Javed Zargar, Showket Choudhary, Bhupinder Razdan and Sanjay Saraf.
BJP Kissan Morcha has also condemned the controversial statement made by Farooq Abdullah. Taking strong exception to the statement of NC chief that PoK is not personnel property of India Kissan Morcha said entire Kashmir including PoK was the part of India from times immemorial and Pakistan which came into being in 1947 has no right even at a single inch of land of the J&K.
The Morcha  held demonstrations at Kishtwar and Doda under the leadership of its general secretary Sunil Dutt. He demanded a case be registered against Dr Abdullah and he should tender a public apology. The protesters torched effigy of Dr Abdullah.
