3 killed, two injured in accidents

SRINAGAR, Nov 27: Three persons were killed while two others were injured in different road accidents in Valley.
A police spokesman said a scooty driven by Majid Farooq Bhat hit and injured a pedestrian namely Ghulam Nabi Rather at Hiller village of Kokernag in Anantnag district. He said the injured was shifted to hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, the spokesman said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
The spokesman said a vehicle bearing registration number JK02S-2220 hit and injured a pedestrian Ghulam Mohammad Lone near Forest Check Post Badroo in Srigufwara area of Anantnag district. He said the injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, the spokesman said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
The spokesman said a vehicle of Beacon Authorities bearing registration number CH0839 driven by Santosh Kumar hit and injured a pedestrian namely Khazir Mohammad Bhat at Kalaroos in Kupwara district. He said the injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, the spokesman said, adding that police have registered a case in this regard.
The spokesman said a passenger bus bearing registration number JK01E-3272 and a motorcycle bearing registration number JK09A-2724 driven by Athar Mushtaq Lone met with an accident near DFO Office Langate in Kupwara district, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist and pillion mate namely Jehangir Ahmad Mir. Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Handwara for treatment, he said.
