Nine structures damaged, 3 injured in fire incidents

SRINAGAR, Nov 27: Three persons were injured and nine structures damaged in separate fire incidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said fire broke out in the joint residential house of Mohammad Akbar Lone and Showkat Ahmad Lone – both residents of Gazriyal – in Kralpora area of Kupwara district. He said a nearby residential house was also engulfed by fire, resulting in damage to both the houses.
The spokesman said fire was brought under control by fire tenders and locals of the area. Three persons namely Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Basit Hussain Lone and Mohammad Iqbal Lone received burn injures while extinguishing the fire, he said, adding that the injured persons were shifted to hospital for treatment.
In another incident, the police spokesman said, fire broke out in the residential house of Ashok Pandit – a resident of Trapadpora – in Shopian district which engulfed a nearby residential house of Rakesh Pandit, resulting in damage to both the houses. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders, he said.
The spokesman said fire broke out in a cowshed of Mohammad Yousuf Palla – a resident of Check-i-Rajwali – in Kulgam district which engulfed the nearby houses of Bilal Ahmad Bhat and Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, resulting in damage to all the three structures. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders, he said.
The police spokesman added that fire broke out in the residential house of Abdul Gani Rather – a resident of Batnoor – in Tral area of Pulwama district, resulting in damage to the house. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders, he said. The spokesman said the fire broke out in a Kiryana shop belonging to Nadeem Ahmad Khawaja at Uri in Baramulla district, resulting in damage to the shop.  Fire was brought under control by fire tenders, he added.
