BJP Cell discusses transporters’ issues with Union Minister

JAMMU, Nov 23: State convener BJP Transport Cell Ashutosh Gupta along with his team met MoS R&B, General V K Singh and discuss on various issues pertaining to transporters.
Gupta and his team told the Minister that the drivers and passengers have been suffering lot due to mismanagement of Lakhanpur border administration. They alleged that Lakhanpur administration has failed to ensure smooth movement of interstate buses at Lakhanpur.
The Minister was informed that Recto Meter Device has been made mandatory for fitting in commercial vehicle, but this device in not available in the market due to which a large number of buses are still standing idle and all transporters are suffering from this order of administration.
Gupta apprised the MoS that the passengers (tourists) coming from other states are not allowed to enter in J&K UT. He demanded to allow the tourists enter in J&K, besides relaxation of token tax of the year 2020-2021. He also demanded that passenger tax should be exempted in the J&K UT just like it has been done in other UTs of India.
The appeal was also made for renewal of documents of all those vehicles which are 15 years and extended the same upto 20 years.
Gupta was accompanied by Karan Pal Singh, Vipan Sharma, Roshan Lal Sharma, Vijay Choudhary, Tarun Bali, Sanjeev Sharma and Pranav Gupta.
