KISHTWAR, Nov 19: BJP candidate from Inderwal Tariq Ken held series of election meetings in Chalasu, Dhar, Duga, Rakhori and Thatri to garner vote and support for himself in November 25 elections.
Addressing the meetings Mr Ken highlighted the policies and programmes of BJP and said that Muslims in the country are more safe in BJP rule than any party else. He alleged that successive State Governments failed to develop the hilly region of erstwhile Doda district which sans basic facilities of life.
He said the condition of roads in the area is worst resulting in accidents and loss of precious human lives but the Government never bothered to pay attention to this grave problem. Moreover no development projects were taken up in hand and no sincere efforts were made to tap the power potential of the area.
Ken said that Congress and NC leadership exploited the people of this hilly belt for vote bank politics and created a division among the people. He assured them that if BJP comes to power it will take up many development projects in the hand and promote tourism in this hilly belt.
Mr Ken was accompanied by campaign incharge of the area Sanjay Parihar who while addressing the meetings said that BJP is all set to form the next Government in the State. He said Muslims of this hilly belt have realized that Congress and NC
have exploited them over the years for their own benefits.
He said the large number of Muslims turning up in BJP rallies indicate that the party is no longer untouchable for them.
