BJP big threat to Jammu’s identity: Harsh Dev

BISHNAH, June 10:  With peoples’ faith having been completely shattered in the present dispensation, NPP chairman and former minister  Harsh Dev Singh today  said that if Jammu region faced an existential threat today, it was from BJP than anybody else.
Addressing public meeting at Bishnah today Harsh Dev said that BJP’s duplicitous character, its lust for power, its lame duck posturing and vested interests of its opportunist leaders posed the gravest threat the very identity and culture of Dogras besides their survival as a class. He said that having reposed their faith in BJP and given it a massive, overwhelming mandate, the people of Jammu were the most dis-appointed lot today. The BJP which used to shed crocodile tears  for Jammu’s empowerment had given the deadliest blow to the cause of Dogra land by surrendering over all its election time promises.
“BJP’s surrenders will shock the progeny. It’s rule would go down as the gloomiest phase in the history of Jammu. It surrenders would continue to haunt the posterity.
“We don’t say that BJP did not raise its voice. Of course. It surely did. The voice was however raised in the media only. And these whispers and murmurs made in the media drowned in the immense silence observed in cabinet meetings so as to avoid offending Mehbooba” Harsh Dev said.
While the issue of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis had created an alarm in entire Jammu region, the BJP leaders made statements of evicting them for public consumption only without any follow up action. The withdrawal of minutes pertaining to Tribal settlements also met the same fate. The share of Jammu region in services had been marginalized with mere crumbs falling in its kitty much to the chagrin and disgust of unemployed youth, Harsh dev said.
Accusing the BJP of having sold the mandate of Jammu for power, Singh said that the major threat to Jammu’s survival as an entity and to its identity was from the opportunist BJP which could go to any extent to remain glued to the seat of power.
