JAMMU, Feb 3: Senior Congress leader and former minister, Mula Ram today lambasted the BJP for its failure to provide the basic amenities to the people during its three and half years rule in the State.
Addressing public meeting at Bantalab in Raipur- Domana constituency today, Mula Ram asserted that the people of the State are fed up with the hollow claims of BJP and emphasized that the Congress party will come out with flying colours in the forthcoming elections in the State.
The Congress leader said that Congress Party would ensure minimum income guarantee for every poor in the country, if it returns to power after the Lok Sabha polls. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling BJP of befooling the people on the name of development.
“AICC president Rahul Gandhi had assured to give minimum income guarantee to poor if the party voted to power. This means, each poor person in India will have minimum income and there will be no hungry, poor people in India,” Mula Ram mentioned.
Speaking on the occasion, Hari Singh Chib, DCC president Jammu Rural, lashed out at the previous regime for its wrong policies and failure to address the genuine issues like farmers, employees of different categories, ReT teachers, daily wagers, casual labours and unemployed youth leading to unrest among various sections of the State. He said that Congress is the only secular force in the country which has a history of respecting the aspirations and protecting the rights of different sections of society.
During the meeting the Congress leaders welcomed some new entrants to the party fold and claimed that it will further strengthen the party.
Among others who were present included Rafiq Khan president NSUI, Manu Sarpanch, Raj Dev Singh, Sunny Jat, Manu Jamwal, Devi Singh, Kansi Ram, Narinder Gupta, Balkar Singh, Shashi Kant and Raju Panch.
Meanwhile, another meeting was held at Barn which was organized by Sarpanch Sudagar Singh Chib.
Chib asked the party workers to strengthen the party by highlighting policies and programmes of the Congress in every nook and corner of the constituency.
