JAMMU, Nov 5: The motto of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led BJP Government is all-round development with no scope for any kind of prejudice towards anybody.
This was stated by Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president while speaking at the programme at an ancient Panchayati Gurdwara, Dhontli Bazaar, East constituency Jammu.
Sethi said that BJP has done so much for the Sikh community in just eight years of its rule which will be written in the history in golden words. He said that BJP has a voluminous account of steps it has taken for the welfare of Sikh community in the country.
Sethi said that PM Narendra Modi out of his sheer affection towards Sikh community has given nod for the opening of Kartarpur Corridor, a historical step indeed and the near to heart demand of all the Sikhs worldwide. He said that PM Modi dedicated the trans-border corridor that allows Indian pilgrims visa-free access to Darbar Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan’s Narowal district, where Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, spent the last 18 years of his life.
The senior BJP leader also mentioned the move by the BJP Government to celebrate Bal Diwas in the memory of Chhote Sahibzaade- Zorawar Singh (9) and Fateh Singh (7), who were bricked alive on the orders of Mughal Commander Wazir Khan of Sirhind after they had refused to convert to Islam and had instead chosen death. He said that Congress never gave a serious thought to these demands of Sikh community rather it exploited the community on one pretext or the other.
Sethi said that the decision of Modi Government to rescue hundreds of Sikhs from Taliban ruled Afghanistan is also a significant measure taken by the party to ensure succor to Sikh brethrens living under stressful conditions in a country far away from India. He also discussed the instance wherein the Ministers of BJP Government shifted the Holy Guru Granth Sahib from the trouble-torn country giving full honour and with traditional decorum.
Sethi also pledged to act as a bridge between the Sikh community and the party to ensure development and progress of the community. He also urged the people to maintain communal harmony at all costs asserting that it is the key to ensure peace and prosperity of the J&K Union Territory as well as the nation and its people.
