Fire tenders controlling blaze as biscuit factory catches fire in Kathua on Friday. -Excelsior/Pardeep

KATHUA, Jan 24: Heavy fire broken out in an industrial unit setup at Industrial Estate here, today.
As per reports the fire broke out at Rattan Oil Mills and Biscuit Manufacturing Units this morning.  After getting the information a police team led Incharge Hatli Morh, Police Post Vishal Kumar reached on the spot and called the fire brigade to extinguish the fire. The fire tender reached the spot and started dousing the blaze. Four fire tenders from Kathua and Hiranagar one by one reached on the spot to douse the fire.

After hot chase and efforts the fire was controlled after 12 hours. The unit was manufacturing the biscuit and there were nearly 40, 000 cartoon of biscuits dumped in the unit which were turned into ashes the owner of the unit, Anil Kumar said. There is also a huge loss of property and material in the factory. The cause of fire is not known but it is presumed to be short circuit. However all inmates of the factory including workers are safe. The Hatli Police Post has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation into matter.
