Biometric attendance for Imprest Workers demanded

UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Water Works PHE Employees Association here today staged a protest demonstration under the leadership of Som Nath, Association’s Senior Vice President.
The protesters were raising the issue of Imprest Workers.
Talking to reporters Som Nath said that Imprest Workers have been engaged by certain authorities in PHE Department for the last 12-15 years on honorarium of Rs 500 per month for eight hours regular duty and shockingly they receive Rs 500 only twice a year.
He further said that due to this, families of these workers are at the verge of starvation.
The protesters demanded biometric attendance for these workers as so far their record has not been maintained in the department.
Som Nath also appealed to the Advisor to the Governor to look into the issue of these workers.
He further demanded the release of pending wages of CP and ITI workers and also to land donors during the upcoming festivals.
Vijay Sharma, Suraj Prakash, Dinesh Kesar, Amit Dubey, Omkar Chand, Barf Singh, Flail Singh, Jatinder, Dev Singh and others were also present in the protest.
