JAMMU, Sept 23: Deputy Mayor, Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria chaired “Housing for All” and “Skill Upgradation & Self Employment” Standing Committee meetings in the conference hall of JMC here, today.
During the meeting Deputy Mayor, discussed and emphasized the pivotal initiatives of “Housing for All” and “Skilled Upgradation” in the region. In his address, Billawaria underscored the commitment of the municipal body to foster growth and development among the youth of Jammu. He expressed his optimism regarding the youth of Jammu, assuring that they would receive comprehensive support and opportunities for entrepreneurial endeavors through various Government schemes. He stated, “Our goal is to empower the youth of Jammu by providing them with the necessary tools and resources to establish their businesses.”
Deputy Mayor complimented Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for launching the PM Vishwakarma scheme on ‘Vishwakarma Jayanti’ adding that this scheme will change the lives of our craftsmen. He added that the PM Vishwakarma scheme is aimed at benefitting traditional artisans and craftspeople. One of the key highlights of the meeting was the Deputy Mayor’s announcement that the “Housing for All” scheme would be executed seamlessly, with all stage instalments being disbursed to beneficiaries without any hindrances. This is expected to streamline the process and ensure that housing becomes a reality for all eligible residents. During the meeting it was proposed that many Reharis in the Rehri zones and Rehri vendors have been causing havoc by throwing garbage in the open nearby area, so in order to avoid these all Rehris should have a dustbin along with them otherwise they will be penalised.
During the meeting, Billawaria issued crucial instructions to the officers present to address several important issues in the region. He instructed officers to carry out thorough verification of street vendors to ensure their legitimacy and compliance with regulations, contributing to organised and safe street vending. The Deputy Mayor acknowledged the issue raised by the corporator regarding JDA land encroachment in Ward No. 38 instructed immediate action to address this concern. Billawaria emphasised the need to provide provisional licenses to the old Rehri zones, facilitating the livelihood of street vendors in these areas. He encouraged the establishment of a library in a park without any charges, promoting education and reading among the community. He emphasised collaboration among all stakeholders to collectively work towards the betterment of Jammu.
