Biker arrested with illicit liquor pouches

JAMMU, Apr 25: Police arrested a biker along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Kohdey Wala Camp area on Sohal road, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Kohdey Wala Camp area on Sohal road and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AM-9138.
During checking, police recovered 66 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the biker and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Gurvinder Singh (20), son of Paramjeet Singh of Jadh, Tehsil Akhnoor.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native area for selling among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 66/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and Additional SP Rural Arun Gupta.
