JAMMU, July 10: Charging the State Government with failure to tackle the situation created by militants in Anantnag during the Shri Amarnath Yatra, JKNPP leader Prof Bhim Singh today called upon the Parliament of India to intervene directly so that all misunderstandings and confusions created on constitutional relationship between Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country are washed away once for all and there is one Constitution and one flag from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
In a statement, Prof Bhim Singh said that the fundamental rights enshrined in Chapter III of the Indian Constitution should be extended to all citizens of India residing in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof Bhim Singh held the Parliament of India responsible for the present mess in J&K by keeping Jammu and Kashmir out of the domain of the Constitution of India by inserting Article 370 in the tail of the Indian Constitution. “Though temporary, Article 370 has lasts nearly 66 years and it is still operating as a cancer in the heart of the Indian Constitution.  People of Jammu and Kashmir have been denied of fundamental rights since 1950 though the State acceded to the Union of India like other 577 States,” he said.
Prof Bhim Singh appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the youth and the students to join the movement launched by the Panthers Party for the inclusion of fundamental rights in the law book of Jammu and Kashmir.
Bhim Singh said that he has  written a questionnaire to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to constitute a high power committee to take out the truth and facts relating to the deceased militant and his two colleagues so that the truth shall come out. The questionnaire shall be released for public information on Tuesday if no action is taken in this regard.
