JAMMU, Dec 22: Chief patron of National Panthers Party (NPP) Prof Bhim Singh has lodged complaint with the Chief Election Commission of India seeking setting up of expert committee to probe the alleged unfair means and polling trends in the constituencies where the poll was 80 % and above. In a letter flashed to the Election Commission India, Prof Singh alleged that recent Assembly elections which concluded on December 20, have raised bundles of doubts about the credibility of the polls. He said the Commission has been informed regularly on the situation that was created because of Prime Minister’s rallies leading to curfew like situation in the districts where rallies were held. It was first time in the history of J&K rather country that PM organised nine election rallies in 2014 in J&K leading to chaos and disorder, depriving all other political parties to hold their rallies. NPP leader pointed out that Commission had framed rules for a re-check of the polling stations, where poll percentage rises above 80 & or abnormal. In the several Assembly segments like Bandipur, Sonawari (Kmr), Udhampur, Bani (Kathua) and some other places, the poll percentage crossed 80. During winters majority of population from mountainous areas migrates to Punjab and other plain areas and such high percentage creates doubt about `fairness’ of the polling. He also alleged manipulation in the EVMs and its programming in favopur of particular party. The NPP leader urged upon the CEC to set up an expert committee to probe the polling trends in the constituencies where the poll was 80 % or above. He said that it was necessary to restore faith of the people in democracy.
