Bhatnagar gets affairs of Home Deptt

JAMMU, Jan 15: Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu, who is also holding the charge of Home Department with him, has assigned maximum affairs of the department to his Advisor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar.
The assigned affairs include reviewing preparedness for law and order situation, monitoring and coordinating the Terror Monitoring Group (TMG) for results in a time bound manner, deployment of CAPF and JKAP for optimum effect, addressing various aspects pertaining to intelligence activities and timely follow up and coordinating with Special Security Advisor (NSA), etc.
In coordination with Special Security Advisor, (MHA), Advisor Bhatnagar shall deal with the matters of assessment of border grid for preventing infiltration and suggest appropriate measures for effective policing at the police station level, including reshuffling of SHO and other cutting edge levels and regular review of operational effectiveness of the Police force and steps for capacity building.
According to an order in this regard, Advisor Bhatnagar has also been assigned the responsibility to coordinate efforts to counter cross border propaganda and interventions for awareness and information dissemination, oversee measures to improve criminal investigation, forensics and prosecution, take steps to enhance faith in the criminal justice system, devising mechanism for timely disposal of public grievances connected to investigation and crime control, ensure clean and responsive administration with weeding out of corrupt elements, relive performance of police and narcotics control and suggest measures for better control and convictions and monitor in particular cases of offences against women and under POCSO to ensure timely disposal as per the law.
