JAMMU, Dec 16: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today listened to the people’s demands at a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Paloura.
Former Minister Mula Ram besides Sarpanchs, Panchs, officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
Responding to the demands, Bhalla said that the Coalition Government was working under a comprehensive plan to develop modern line infrastructure facilities across the State. He said that there was no constraint of funds under development sectors like R&B, PHE, ERA, PDD, Health, Education and other sectors.
The Minister said that unprecedented development has been witnessed across the State during five year tenure of the present Government, adding that many new projects were in pipeline to upgrade the living standard of the people,
The Minister assured the inhabitants that their remaining genuine developmental demands would also be fulfilled on priority basis.
Listing new projects sanctioned for Jammu city, Bhalla said that Health Ministry has approved Rs. 71 crore for construction of 6-storey Maternity Hospital within Gandhi Nagar Hospital premises. He said that the hospital would be constructed with all facilities at par with SMGS hospital.
The Minister said to ease rush in the city and Gandhi Nagar Hospitals the Government has also approved Rs. 4.77 crore for construction of Primary Health Centre at Bhore Camp and Lower Gaddigarh, besides NS Urban Health Centre at Trikuta Nagar.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to avail the benefits of Central and State Governments sponsored schemes. He said under MGNREGA scheme, several development projects are under progress on war-footing in rural and remote areas of the State. He urged them to cooperate with Government agencies in completing the ongoing projects within prescribed time frame.
For providing better accommodation to slum dwellers, Mr. Bhalla said that Government has earmarked Rs. 19 crore for construction of two-room flats at Sunjwan, adding that the project is under progress and would be completed within stipulated time frame. He said after inauguration, the slum dwellers of Rajiv Nagar and Bhagwati Nagar would be accommodated there with all basic facilities.
