JAMMU, Mar 31: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today flagged off 14th annual Charri Yatra to Sukrala Mata today.
The yatra comprised about 700 yatries started from Lucky Baba Mandir at Bhagwati Nagar with enthusiasm and religious fervor.
On the occasion, a colourful procession was also taken out in the area by chanting Sukrala Mata Bhajans followed by large numbers of devotees and locals.
Complimenting the people on the auspicious occasion, Mr. Bhalla prayed for communal harmony, peace and prosperity in the State. He said that Sukrala Mata Shrine is bestowed with serenity and one could experience the spiritual manifestation at the sanctum sanctorum itself. He hoped that yatra would touch new heights in future and the destination would be emerged as one of the famous pilgrim destinations in the tourist map of India.
For the holistic development of Sukrala Mata shrine and the area, the Minister said that Government has constituted board so that improved basic facilities including accommodation to pilgrims would be provided at the shrine.
Mr. Bhalla said that special efforts are being made to divert the pilgrimage rush from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi to Sukrala Mata and other pilgrimage destinations in the State.
The Lucky Baba informed that free langer and other facilities to the devotees would be provided to the devotees at the Sukrala Mata shrine.
