JAMMU, Dec 27: Accusing BJP of forgetting the issues of Jammu region, former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said the coalition rule so far was a grimy tale of failures and betrayals with none of its elected representatives raking up the promised issues of Jammu region.
He regretted that BJP leaders were still describing the Agenda of Alliance as sacred and visionary despite it showing total disregard for the concerns of Jammu region. He deplored that not a single slogan or election promise of BJP had been incorporated in the said Agenda.
Addressing party workers in Nanak Nagar in Gandhi Nagar constituency during a programme organized by Parveen Singh, Block president, Bhalla referred to the tall announcements made by the BJP during elections regarding empowerment of Jammu, delimitation of Assembly constituencies, end of discrimination against Jammu region and ensuring it equitable treatment, issuance of Dogra certificate to Jammu youth, grant of State Subject rights to West Pak refugees, abolition of Custodian Department and conforming of ownership rights to its occupants, right to vote in Assembly elections and local bodies to WPRs, reservation of 5 seats for PoJK migrants and 3 seats for Kashmir migrants.
Bhalla said that Congress got the approval for the refugees package but BJP ignoring the aspirations of refugees. It was Congress which upgraded Medical treatment standard in Jammu by opening Super Specialty Hospital Jammu, 200 bedded Children Hospital at Gandhi Nagar and making provision of Medical staff at districts and sub district hospitals. He said CAPD outlets lacked sufficient supplies and the utility services were craving for maintenance.
On the local issues of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Bhalla regretted the total neglect of the constituency with not even a single new work taken up for execution during the last one year.
Mr Chopra speaking on the occasion said that the polls promises of BJP and PDP have proved to be mere bluffs and people are fed up with the policies and sheer opportunism of two parties. Both the parties took the extreme positions on most of the emotional issues and exploited their respective constituencies to the hilt, with a false and deceptive promise to keep each other out of power, if voted in strength.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include Kulbhushan Sharma, PS.Chouhan, BB Gupta, RK Goyal, Dr RK Khujaria, Vijay Singh, Amrit Bali, Davinder Singh, Jodh Singh Sony, Barath Bushan, Charanjeet Singh Chib, GS Sudan and others.
