BGSBU celebrates World Tourism Day

RAJOURI, Sept 27: Centre for Hospitality and Tourism, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) celebrated World Tourism Day by organizing a seminar on the theme “Tourism & Jobs: A Better Future for All”.
Asrar Ghaus, Director CHT was chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Tourism has become the continuously growing economic sector worldwide because of the occurrence of various attractive and new destinations for the tourists.
He said that Tourism industry has huge potential for employment generation and economic development. Ghaus emphasized upon the need of skill development to bridge the gap between academia and industry. He said that the CHT has been envisioned to promote quality education, research and training in the field of tourism and hospitality.
Dr Danish Iqbal Raina, Assistant Professor highlighted the theme of the Tourism Day. He said that Tourism Industry has become the major contributor of employment and has been emerged as an important economic activity across the globe. Those who spoke on the occasion include Dr Insha Amin, Ishtyiaq Awan and Amir Malik. Students of Postgraduate and Diploma programs also presented their views on the occasion.
