BGM holds protest, highlights demands

REASI, Jan 31: Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha (BGM) held a protest in support of long pending demands of Gujjar Bakerwal community.
Addressing the gathering, Eshfaq-Ur-Rehman Poswal, president, BGM said that despite large number of schemes being launched by the Government for the welfare of the community, Gujjars and Bakerwal are still deprived of the same.
He demanded political reservation and proper utilization of funds meant for the welfare of the Gujjar and Bakerwal community. He also demanded separate administrative department for Tribal affairs in the State and insurance cover for the migratory population and their livestock.
He also demanded adequate number of Urdu teachers in Gujjar Bakerwal dominated district Reasi.
Calling upon all the political parties and representative of community, Poswal urged them to raise the issues of the ST Community in the upcoming budget session.
Earlier a delegation led by Poswal met Deputy Commissioner and submitted memorandum of demands.
