MENDHAR, Aug 28: The members of Beopar Mandal and local business community held protest demonstration against the R&B authorities in the main bazaar of the town here today.
A large number of traders under the leadership of Beopar Mandal president Parveen Kumar Sawhney assembled in the main bazaar in the morning around 9.30 am and held protest demonstration against the R&B department. They alleged that before rainy season the R&B authorities dug out some drains and then abandoned the work. Now during rains, the entire water was entering shops and causing damage to their property/ goods.
They strongly shouted slogans against the R&B Minister, Chief Engineer R&B and Executive Engineer concerned. Then in the shape of rally they moved towards Tehsildar office and sat on dharna. Later, SDM, Tehsildar and SDPO also arrived there. They assured to take up the issue with the R&B authorities. Thereafter they suspended rally and resumed work.
