UDHAMPUR, Oct 24: Chairperson BDC Ghordi, Arti Sharma has demanded adequate compensation to the farmers, whose crop was damaged due to heavy rain and hailstorm yesterday.
Talking to media persons, here today, she appealed to District Administration Udhampur, Agriculture Department, Revenue Department and other concerned officials for providing appropriate compensation and relief to the affected farmers.
Arti Sharma said that many houses have also been damaged because of the heavy rain in 20 Panchayats of block Ghordi. She requested District Administration Udhampur and other concerned officials for provision of suitable relief to the affected ones.
“Most of the farmers, whose crops were damaged in the hailstorm, have taken KCC loans and we also urge the Government to waive off their loans,” she added.
