JAMMU, Sept 21: A first ever awareness program on the implementation of GST- Model Act 2016 was conducted by Bari Brahmana Industries Association in collaboration with Emcure Pharmaceutical Pvt Ltd & M/s Bizsol India Services Pvt Ltd, Pune at BBIA Bhawan here today.
Commissioner, Custom & Central Excise, Jammu, Kashori Lal was the chief guest. While welcoming the chief guest, other officers of various departments and members of Industrial fraternity, Lalit Mahajan, president, BBIA in his presidential remarks appreciated the steps taken by M/s Emcure Pharmaceutical in collaboration with M/s Bizsoil India P Ltd, Pune for such event and said that the aim of such seminar to educate the Industrial Sector in respect of GST and to work out the ways and means to provide the exemptions to the Industrial sector of J&K in the GST Regime for the survival of Industrial sector in J&K at par with the fiscal incentives available at present as it is very difficult for the Industrial sector to survive without the fiscal incentives due to locational disadvantages and additional cost of raw materials.
Further, Mr Mahajan conveyed his thanks to Ashok B Nawal for highlighting the various aspects in respect of implementation of GST Model Act- 2016 for the member units which will help them to avail the benefits.
While speaking on the occasion Kashori Lal appreciated the steps by BBIA to educate the industrial fraternity about the GST Model Act- 2016 for which deliberation is going on at Central Govt level for the implementation of the act with ease of doing business concept.
Ashok B Nawal, vice chairman M/s Bizsoil India Pvt Ltd, Pune described the various aspects of GST Act in detail for the member units which will help them to avail the benefits. Vote of thanks was presented by Viraaj Malhotra, secretary, BBIA.
The program was also attended by Varun Singla vice president, Ajay Langer, general secretary, Viraaj Malhota secretary/ treasurer BBIA, Satish Koul, officials of Commercial Tax Department and other prominent industrialist.
