JAMMU, Aug 20: Bari Brahmana Industries Associat-ion (BBIA) has demanded extension in the date for filing of GST returns in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a meeting of the Association held today under the chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan, president BBIA, in presence of Tarun Singla, senior vice president, Ajay Langer vice president, Viraaj Malhotra general secretary, Rajesh Jain -secretary and Vivek Singhal treasurer BBIA, the members discussed the difficulties being faced by the Industrial Units of J&K in filing of GST returns due to suspension of Internet services in J&K for the last so many days, resulting into total disruption in the Industrial activities.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Internet services have been snapped in the State since August 05, 2019. It is not possible for the Unit holders to transfer the funds for the deposit of GST for the month of July 2019 & filing of GST returns on or before August 20, 2019.
Further, due to suspension in Internet services in our State, members are also facing problem in filing their personal Income Tax Returns and online tenders of State as well as Govt of India.
BBIA has requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik and KK Sharma, Advisor to Governor to kindly take up the matter with Union Finance Minister, for the extension of date for the deposit and filing of GST and Income Tax returns and tenders of State/Central Govt till the restoration of Internet Service across the State.
