JAMMU, Oct 21: A delegation of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) led by its president Lalit Mahajan called on the Additional Commissioner (Adm), Sales Tax Rifat Kohli and discussed the issues of industrialists with her.
Accompanied by other office bearers Tarun Singla, Ajay Langer, Viraaj Malhotra, Rajesh Jain, Vivek Singhal, Mr Mahajan discussed their concerns with the Additional Commissioner in presence of Rajneesh Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Audit and highlighted the various issues related to the Industrial sector of J&K for early resolution.
While appreciating the efforts of the Department for the sanction of Rs 62 crores against the pending reimbursement claims of the Industrial units, several points were brought into the knowledge of Addl Commissioner, State Tax Department which includes, sanctioning of funds for the remaining pending claims of Industrial units laying with department, time bound clearance of claims files by the concerned CTO’s on first come first serve basis, adoption of self credit mechanism by the Department for the early settlement of claims, to take necessary steps to prevent the entry of unaccounted/under value goods being manufactured by MSME Units of the State from Lakhanpur Check Post, Interest charged on the GST returns filed on October 20 for the period August/September 2019 for which the date was extended by the Department, extension of date for the exemption from the preview of E-way Bill for the Intra-State dispatch of goods due to disturbance of Internet connectivity and other related issues.
Mr Mahajan also brought into the notice of Additional Commissioner, that due to blockage of Funds in the reimbursement of claims of CGST/SGST and 2 % in lieu of CST, the working capital of the Units stands exhausted and requested her to kindly take up the matter with the Commissioner State Tax Department for the release of funds before the Darbar Move to clear the liability of the Industrial Units.
