JAMMU, Mar 9: A delegation of BBIA met the Commissioner/ Secretary CAPD and discussed the issues related to flour mill owners and milk product unit holders here today.
Led by president of Bari Brahmana Industries Associ-ation, Lalit Mahajan and general secretary BBIA Ajay Langar the members including industrial unit holders from Bari Brahmana and Kashmir deliberated the various issues related to the CAPD Department.
The BBIA members projected the issues including the decontrolling the prices of processed/ pasteurized milk as the same was not covered under the Essential Commodities Act of Govt of India.
While referring to the issues of flour mill owners, they said that the flour mills working in the Jammu region have been suffering due to pending payments of on account of the supply of empty bags in 2009 and the grinding charges for the relief material since 2014. They demanded hike in the grinding charges, equal distribution of wheat for grinding on the basis of capacity of the units. Several other issues were also discussed in detail.
Saurabh Bhagat, Commiss-ioner/ Secretary, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation to resolve the issues on priority basis and directed the concerned officials present in the meeting to take immediate steps in this regard.
