Battle lines drawn for JUTA elections

JAMMU, Sept 23: After the scrutiny and withdrawal of nomination papers, battle lines have been drawn for various posts of Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA), elections of which are going to be held on September 30.
There will be direct contests for the positions of President, Vice-President and Joint Secretary while four candidates are in fray for the post of General Secretary.
Prof Pankaj K Srivastava and Prof Vibhakar Mansotra are contesting against each other for the post of President while Dr Manoj Bhatt and Dr Vijay Saigal are in the fray for the position of Vice-President.
Dr Manoj Bhatt is also contesting for the post of Joint Secretary and other candidate for the position is Dr Yudhbir Singh.
In the multi-corner contest for the post of General Secretary, Dr Meghna Dhar, Dr Ravinder Singh, Dr Sikander Pal and Dr Vijay Kumar Shivgotra are the candidates.
The polling shall be held on September 30 from 10 am to 2 pm in the Seminar Hall, Department of Environment Sciences, University of Jammu, while polling in the Bhaderwah Campus shall be held on September 28, from 10 am to 12 noon. The last date of exercising the option of postal ballot is September 29, before 2 pm.
