JAMMU, Nov 7: Continuous landsliding triggered due to continuous rains has forced closure of Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway for the second consecutive day.
The closure of the National Highway 1B due to continuous landsliding near Chakwa Nallah has created manifold problems for the people residing in Doda and Kishtwar districts due to halt in the supply of the essential commodities.
The 110 -kilometer long Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway was closed for vehicular movement following major landslide yesterday morning at Chakwa Nallah.
The sudden closure of the road forced hundreds of vehicles including goods carrying vehicles to halt at several places on the highway from Batote to Doda.
The continuous land sliding near Chakwa Nallah has also restricted the BRO men and machinery to start the clearance work on the highway.
