Srinagar, Nov 13: Bashir Ather Malik has been appointed as Director News for both Doordarshan and Radio Kashmir Srinagar in addition to Radio Kashmir Leh and Radio Kashmir Kargil.
In an order (105/2013 IIS, dated November 13, 2013) issued by Information and Broadcasting Ministry Government of India, Malik was appointed Director News of all the radio and TV stations of Kashmir province.
Malik was heading Doordarshan and Radio News in Srinagar. Author of several books in Urdu, Hindi and Kashmiri, Malik has been awarded thrice by Doordarshan for his outstanding work and has also been conferred with the State award of excellence in media by State Government.
Malik is widely travelled and has accompanied President and Prime Minister to over 15 foreign countries.
