Base metal prices weaken on reduced industrial offtake

NEW DELHI, Apr 13:  Base metals prices fell up to Rs 4 per kg on the local non-ferrous metals market today on reduced industrial offtake and reports of a weakening trend in overseas markets.
Traders said besides reduced offtake by industrial units, weakening trend in overseas markets mainly kept pressure on base metal prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4×4) remained under selling pressure and fell by Rs 2 and Rs 4 to Rs 424 and Rs 1,050-1,053 per kg respectively.
Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported were also traded lower by Rs 2 each to Rs 119-125, Rs 140 and Rs 138 per kg respectively.
The following are metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 119-125, nickel plate (4×4) 1,050-1,053, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 424, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 140, lead imported 138, aluminium ingots 140, sheet cutting 141, aluminium wire scrap 144 and aluminium utensils scrap 140. (PTI)
