KATHUA, Mar 31: Basantpur police foiled a bid to smuggle bovine animals to outside the State by arresting the accused
On the intervening night of March 30 and 31, 2016 a Police Party of PP Basantpur under the supervision of Incharge Police Post Basantpur SI Anand Dutta during a naka near Satwai late last night and rescued for bovine animals which were being smuggled outside the State.
According to police during checking a Mahindra Bolero load carrier bearing Registration No PB35Q-9810 tried to run away on seeing Naka but police intercepted it after a vigorous chase.
During search of vehicle four bovine animals were recovered. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape. A case FIR 29/16 U/S 188 RPC stands registered at Police Station Lakhanpur. Further Investigation is going on. The operation was conducted under the guidelines and supervision of SSP Kathua Ms Neeva Jain.
