JAMMU, Sept 14: Sanjay Kumar Baru, convenor of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Urban Local Bodies Cell and councilor of JMC Ward-41 demanded early implementation of 74th amendment to boost the development works in the wards under Municipal Corporation (MC).
Baru, in a statement issued here, today complimented Jammu Kashmir UT Administration and especially Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and expressed his gratitude for the announcement of starting back to village-3, giving ten lakhs for development works to all Panchayats and announcing the registration of Ayushman Bharat Card under Jan Arogya Yojana to all the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sanjay Baru said that due to Kashmir centric politics for so many years in Jammu and Kashmir, the attitude of discrimination was always adopted against Jammu and Ladakh. He said that now under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi at the Center, on August 5, 2019, a historic decision was taken to remove Sections 370 and 35A from the erstwhile State, which ended the discrimination among all three regions and opened up the ways for equivocal development.
Baru said that the effort to reach every Panchayat and to speed up the ongoing development work in all Panchayats through the back to village decided by the Jammu and Kashmir UT administration is a really good start. He also appreciated the opening of district wise grievances redressal camps on the instructions of LG administration.
Baru requested LG Sinha for early implementation of 74th Amendment to boost the Municipal Corporations, Municipal Council and Municipal Committees for their upliftment and speed up development work in the local bodies.
He also appealed the Government that a special amount should also be announced for the respective Wards to boost the Municipal Corporation and hence the development of the wards. He demanded that the administration should instruct all the departments that their officers should cooperate with all the councilors to carry out the development work in their respective wards.
