Bar Association suspends work, holds dharna

KATHUA, Dec 8: The Bar Association Kathua suspended work in courts and sat on protest dharna in the District Court complex here against the Kathua Police and Chief Prosecuting Officer Kathua for presenting a challan against the advocate Atul Andotra in the Court in a long pending case .
The Bar Association Kathua led by its president Balbir Singh sat on dharna in court complex here and raised slogan in favour of their demand to withdraw the challan.
While talking to media person advocate Arvind Gupta said that in 2013, our colleague advocate visited Assistant Labour Commissioner Court and some altercation took place with Sub Inspector Ajay Kumar. A case in this connection was registered at Kathua Police Station under the FIR No 303/13-8-2013  under Section 188/153,504/526.  He alleged that the police presented a challan in the court with out any intimation and hatched a conspiracy against the advocate fraternity and wanted to criminalise them. The advocate Rajinder Singh asked the district Magistrate to intervene into the matter and withdraw the case which in not deserving for prosecution.
