Banning fake handicraft among demands raised by CCIK

SRINAGAR, July 24: Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) held its annual general body meeting which was chaired by CCIK president, Tariq Rashid Ghani.
Many new young entrepreneurs also participated in the meeting and expressed views about business atmosphere in J&K.
The meeting resolved that no fake handicraft products would be allowed in Kashmir to protect Kashmiri handicraft.
Demand of banning fake handicraft was also raised along with the demand of not hiking power tariff and rolling back of GST.
The CCIK members also demanded that Transport Nagar should be developed on modern lines and stressed on prioritizing education sector by upgrading it to international level by introducing modern education aids in schools.
The members demanded that the youth willing to take up business should be handheld by the Government through various incentive based schemes which should be approved through single window system.
It was also resolved that tourism is one of the mainstays of the economy in J&K and the Government should allow reconstruction or repair of hotel properties Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg, Srinagar etc.
The members also demanded that tourism should be given the benefits of industries.
CCIK members also demanded steps to make Kashmir a polythene free region.
The demand of AIIMS for Kashmir to be reconstructed on fast track basis was also raised.
