Bali Bhagat urges people to treat public utilities as their own assets

JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat today urged upon the people to treat all public utilities as their own  property for better upkeep and benefit of these vital assets.

The Minister was speaking after dedicating a park to the public at Dharmal in Barnai developed by Department of Floriculture at the cost of Rs. 54.13 lakh.

Minister of State for Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi, Director, Floriculture Babila Rakwal, ADC Arun Manhas, SDM, Akhnoor Sunaina Sharma, besides senior political leader Yudhvir Sethi, Omi Khajuria and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.

Bali Bhagat further said that the state government is working for the welfare of the common masses and stress is being given on developing assets for the public in all vital sectors. He urged the locals to help in maintenance of the park. He informed that a 100 bedded Primary Health Centre would be set up in Domana for providing better healthcare facilities to the people.

While addressing the gathering, Priya Sethi said that the department is working relentlessly for beautification of all parks in Jammu, besides equipping them with pathways, musical fountains, LED lighting, artifacts and other recreational equipments.

She said the people can enjoy morning/evening walks and school children will be able to have picnics in this public place. She stressed upon the people to get involved in the floriculture activities in a big way.

Meanwhile, the Ministers also visited Muthi and Barnai to take stock of the condition of ponds there and directed the department to prepare DPRs for preserving and beautifying these water bodies.

Later, they also planted saplings in the park and directed the department to carry out plantation drives besides providing technical expertise to the common masses so that they can also play their role in maintaining the parks in their localities.
