JAMMU, July 7: In a gesture of reverence and solidarity, Balbir Ram Rattan, national secretary of Guru Ravi Dass Vishwa Mahapeeth, presented portraits of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravi Dass Ji to Jagat Prakash Nadda, BJP national president and Union Health Minister and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office at a function held here.
The function was also attended by Jammu and Kashmir BJP president, Ravinder Raina.
The occasion was significant as it coincided with the visit of Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh to Jammu, where they attended the BJP’s Extended Working Committee meeting over the weekend. Expressing gratitude, Balbir Ram highlighted the upcoming grand temple dedicated to Guru Ravi Dass Ji in Bartuma village, Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh. This monumental project, valued at Rupees 100 crore, has been initiated by the Madhya Pradesh Government and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi laid foundation stone last year.
“Shri Guru Ravi Dass Vishwa Mahapeeth is an international organization committed to propagating the teachings and noble ideals of Guruji,” stated Balbir Ram. He emphasized Guru Ravi Dass’s teachings on social equality, compassion, and the eradication of caste-based discrimination, echoing the saint’s vision that no individual should go hungry in the country.
“Guru Ravi Dass’s teachings remain relevant today more than ever. It is imperative for everyone, not just his followers, to spread awareness of his life and contribute to building a cohesive society,” remarked Balbir Ram. He stressed the importance of strengthening India’s social fabric through unity and understanding, echoing the saint’s advocacy for harmony and universal welfare.
