JAMMU, July 7: Today, the 22nd Chhari Mubarak Yatra of Mata Chamunda Devi Ji commenced from Rameshwar Mandir, Pacca Talab, Bahu Fort, here to Sarvadhar, Pogal Paristan, Ramban.
State vice president of BJP J&K, Anuradha Charak, flagged off the yatra. The event was organized under the leadership of Rajeev Charak, president of Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC). Hundreds of devotees from Jammu participated, who were joined by thousands from areas like Ramban, Doda and Bhaderwah, for the sacred Darshan of Mata Chamunda Ji.
Addressing the gathering, Anuradha Charak congratulated the organizers for their efforts in successfully conducting this annual yatra. She emphasized the yatra’s role in promoting brotherhood and fostering peace among people of different faiths in the city of temples. Charak urged all citizens of J&K to uphold peace, harmony and brotherhood for the collective happiness of all.
Rajeev Charak highlighted that the yatra being the largest in district Ramban, should be developed as both a tourist destination and a pilgrimage site, especially under the current Governor’s rule. He appealed to Lt Governor and the UT administration to ensure essential amenities such as electricity, drinking water and shelter for the yatris. Charak also requested the UT Administration to declare a district holiday in Ramban in honour of the yatra’s significance as it is the most popular yatra of district Ramban. He also released a devotional song dedicated to Maa Chamunda Devi Ji, composed and performed by Sangeeta Thakur.
Notable speakers at the event included Vinod Shavotra, Yash Shavotra, Yash Pal Singh Charak, Sher Singh Shavotra, Raghunandan Charak, Ranbir Singh Manhas, Darshan Kumar, Anchal Singh and Ranjit Singh Sambyal.
