JAMMU, Jan 9: Senior trade unionist from PHE, Balbder Raj has been elected unopposed as Provincial president of the Water Works (PHE) Employees Association , Jammu provincve for the next term of three years. He replaced veteran trade unionist, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
The election was held under ther supervision of seven member Election Committee, headed by Ram Paul Saini, the chairman of the committee in Narwal area here today. The representatives from various units of the WWEA (PHE), including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Reasi and other districts / Divisions participatesd.
After election of Balbder Raj as Provincial president, the Central body was also announced. It was resolved in the meeting that no retired employee will be included in the Central body or other district units.
Mitual Sharma has been declared as Provincial general secretary, Ajay Sharma as senior vice president, Faiz Akbar Chauhan, Rajinder Padha, Kuldip Kumar, Mohd Akram Malik, Raman Kumar, Joginder Pal, Avtar Singh, Bahadur Singh, Munshi Ram and Tahir Shawl – all vice presidents; Naresh Kumar- cahsier; Harbans Lal Sharma, Shyam Lal, Mangal Dass, Subhash Chander, Mohd Farooq, Bihari Lal, Vijay Kumar, Ganesh Sharma, Mohinder Kumar and Birbal Sharma as Secretaries of the Association.
Meanwhile, senior Trade unionist, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who served the Association for more than 20 years as Provincial president, dissolved the existing body and resigned from the post of president, before commencement of elections process. He opeted not to contest elections in future being retiree.
